In the words of Yung Joc, it looks like "it's going down" for R. Kelly. Accused and charged with numerous counts of child pornography after the release of a tape of him allegedly having kinky sex with a minor five years ago, a date has finally been set for his trial.

A date has finally been set for R. Kelly's child pornography trial. Opening arguments begin on Oct. 13, according to Metro Networks. As previously reported, Kelly faces charges of child pornography for allegedly videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl. He has proclaimed his innocence since the investigation began years ago and denies that he is the man in the video. Don't set your TiVo's just yet for Court TV however. Sources from that network tell us that the trial's judge may prevent cameras from entering the courtroom because the case involves a minor. [source]

The trial had been postponed indefinately when the judge assigned to the case fell off a ladder (see, "No Justice, No Peace"). Prior to that incident, the prosecution struggled to establish a time line for which the crimes occured causing further details and some charges to be dropped.

Kelly always maintained his innocence and even went as far as questioning whether it it really was his younger brother who was seen in the tape. This betrayal prompted his brother to release statements alluding to Kelly having a history of inappropriate and possibly sexual relationships with minors.
