BEIJING - A drunken Chinese migrant worker jumped into a panda enclosure at the Beijing Zoo, was bitten by the bear and retaliated by chomping down on the animal's back, state media said Wednesday.


Zhang Xinyan, from the central province of Henan, drank four jugs of beer at a restaurant near the zoo before visiting Gu Gu the panda on Tuesday, the Beijing Morning Post said.

SALEM, N.H. (Sept. 20) - A Maine couple accused of tying up their 19-year-old daughter, throwing her in their car and driving her out of state to get an abortion are out of jail after they each posted $100,000 bail, authorities said.

As conditions of bail, Nicholas Kampf, 54, and Lola Kampf, 53, both real estate developers from North Yarmouth, Maine, were ordered not to contact their daughter, Katelyn, and to surrender their passports.

A police prosecutor had also asked that the parents be ordered not to contact their daughter's boyfriend, his sister or his mother, because Katelyn said her parents threatened to kill her, the baby, the father and his family.

However, that was not a condition of bail, Salem District Court officials said. The boyfriend, Reme Johnson, is currently serving a six-month sentence for theft in the Androscoggin County jail.

"Our concern is they are potential witnesses ... (and) that they may be people of interest to the Kampfs and they might seek them out, and we don't want that," police Capt. Mark Pearson said Tuesday.

Katelyn has been living in Portland, Maine, with her boyfriend's mother, Peggy Johnson. Johnson declined interview requests Tuesday, saying she felt "besieged" by the media and had not left her home in two days. "It has been a horror show," she said.

Earlier Tuesday, the sheriff in Cumberland County, Maine, said Katelyn Kampf told him her parents were upset about the pregnancy because the baby's father was black. The Kampfs are white...
